WMO Client

Starting the WMO Client

The WoW Meters Online Client is a small Java application that parses your combat log and uploads it to the WMO website. In order to run the WMO Client, you must have a recent version(1.5 or above) of Java installed, you can get it at
http://java.com/. After installing Java, you can run the WMO Client by a simple click on the Upload link on top of each page, or :

Start the WMO Client now !

You may get some security warnings about an unverified digital signature for the program, you'll have to click the Run button to allow it to start.

If you run into problems with Java take a look at the Java Control Panel in your Windows Control Panel. You can try typical fixes like clearing Java's Temporary Internet Files, or setting proxy parameters. The WMO Client will also upload your combat logs to the WMO website, you must make sure that your firewall allows this.

How to set-up shortcuts for the WMO Client ?

You can bookmark the following link http://www.wowmeteronline.com/wmoenus.jnlp (right click on the link, then bookmark this link). You will then be able to launch the WMO Client simply by clicking on the bookmark.

If you want shortcuts on your desktop or quicklaunch bar, run the following command "javaws -viewer" (type Windows+R to bring Windows run dialog box), then right-click on the WMO Client line, and click "install shortcuts".

Be carefull : you must never copy the wmoenus.jnlp file on your computer, because it would prevent you to get future updates of the WMO Client.

How to update the WMO Client ?

You don't ! The Java platforms always check your version of the WMO Client at startup and downloads every new available version automatically.

First launch of the WMO Client

First time you launch the WMO Client, you must go to the configuration pane, and fill in two parameters : your WMO account name and password.

WMO needs a working directory to put temporary files and split result of your log files before they"ve been uploaded to the WMO Server. A default directory is chosen for you at startup, you can change it if you like.

The "Archive and delete the original log file after upload" checkbox lets WMO delete your original log files, so you"re ready to run a new session of World of Warcraft.

Spliting a combat log

If you don't delete your combatlog after uploading to WMO everytime , you will get a very HUGE size combatlog after serveral Raids.Since WMO can only handle a less 200M combatlog at once, we need split our large log at first. So, WMO can help you now!

You will find a "Split Log" button right on the right of "Start Parsing" and that's the key!Select a combatlog as usual(no matter how large it is), click the button and WMO Client will split the log file to generate a textfile for each raid in your combatlog and save it in the same directory of the log you selected with name: WoWCombatLog_MM_dd_HH.txt.And then you can upload a smaller file of each Raid to WMO!Enjoy it!

Uploading a combat log

This is going to be really easy : click "Browse", choose a combat log on your hard drive, then click "Start Parsing", and that"s it ! Your new report is available on your WMO account.

Your combat log is usually a file named WoWCombatLog.txt, but you can add other log files from your guildmates, with other names. You can also add directly zipped combat logs. In case of larger(over 300M) log files, WMO will suggest you split it to smaller first before upload it(see above).

If you've checked the box "Archive and delete the original log file after upload", WMO will zip your log and put it into your work dir and then delete your txt log files after the report is generated. If not, you will need to handle these files manually.

You can add a name or comment to your raid, but don't worry if you forget to choose a name/comment, you can still change it after your report has been uploaded.
